Crafting

K and I worked on some Christmas ornaments this afternoon. We started with a kit of foam diecuts and then used stickles for decoration.

Once they are dry, we will be adding a photo of K to the center and she will be giving them to various family members to hang on their trees.

Journal Your Christmas

Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas class will be starting up again on December 1st. I am hoping that this year I will actually stick with the project and complete the full album.

I've been working on my Christmas Journal for a couple of years now. One thing that is nice about Shimelle's classes is that once you are signed up for one you are in it forever!

Just five more days until we start!

Tamara's Sketch #34

The Mackinac Bridge
She's a mighty fine bridge
Five hundred feet high
And five miles long.

In the Straits of Mackinac
There's about as much water as you've ever saw
The folks who lived there tried and tried
But they couldn't get across to the the other side

Couldn't get across without a boat or a plane
Couldn't take a bus or a trolley or a train
Couldn't swim across, it was cold as a fridge
Thought they'd better build themselves a bridge

The Mackinac Bridge
She's a mighty fine bridge
Five hundred feet high
And five miles long.

So in nineteen hundred and fifty four
They started linking shore to shore
From Mackinaw City to St. Ignace town
The men on the top didn't dare look down

In '57 the work was through
there she was all shiny and new
They had a big party and they called out loud
She's the Mackinac Bridge
And we are proud!

The Mackinac Bridge
She's a mighty fine bridge
Five hundred feet high
And five miles long.

Tamara's Sketch #30

They started warning us on Tuesday - BIG STORM FRIDAY MORNING! We were being told to expect at least 10 inches of snow! Thursday's TV news showed all the road plowing and salting crews gearing up, because they were going to have a very long day on Friday clearing roadways.
The Friday morning arrived. Southeast Michigan was prepared. There were over 560 school closings. And even businesses closed too. After-all, there was a BIG STORM coming.
The snow arrive - ALL THREE INCHES of it!
